The 17th annual RMB Off-Triathlon, hosted by OTB Sport on 27 October at Lake Oanob, was a resounding success. The event captivated both participants and spectators with its challenging course and vibrant atmosphere.

OTB Sport expressed satisfaction with the turnout, particularly the enthusiastic participation of young athletes. The triathlon showcased the diversity of sporting talent in Namibia and highlighted the growing popularity of outdoor activities.

“Participants could choose between the Enduro, 1.1km swim, 28km bike and 8km run, Sprint, 600m swim, 15km bike, and 4km run and the Super Sprint, 300m swim, 4km bike, and 2km run. Participants could compete as individuals or in teams,” they added

They informed that the Eduro Male event was won by Andrew Rowles, in second place and the winner of the Elite age category was Jan-Louis Mostert and third overall, and second in the Veteran age category was John Valentin, while Lelani Swart won the Enduro Female category.

“The sprint distance was won by Nathan Chase, who is in top form and recently won the bronze medal in the men’s 16-17 age group at the XTERRA Youth World Championship held in northern Italy. Second overall was Micah Chase and Ethan Brinkmann took the third overall position,” they said.

They said while the Female Sprint was won by Sonja Obhader, who was also the winner of the Female Veteran age category, and in second place was Lillian Kibble, who was also the winner of the U16Femal age category, in third place was Lara Voss, who also won the Elite age category. “The Veteran Male Sprint category was won by Thilo Thum, while the Master Female and Male categories were won by Nicole Botha and Bernd Esslinger respectively,” they empathised.

They also stated that the overall winner of the Super Sprint was Emma Brinkmann, while Aiden Dieh was the overall winner of the Male Super Sprint category.
