OSHAKATI, July 13 — A devastating incident occurred on Thursday around 00:00 at Ekamba village, located behind Ekamba Clinic in the Oshana region, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old Namibian male who was electrocuted while attempting to steal copper cables.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, it is alleged that the victim, a 21-year-old male from Omafo village in the Etayi constituency, met his unfortunate end while tampering with copper cables connected to a power transformer. The incident claimed his life at the scene.
The discovery of the victim was made by paramedics from Oshakati State Hospital, who responded to a report provided by an anonymous individual. The pliers used in the cable-cutting endeavour were found beside the deceased’s body. The next of kin have been duly notified of the tragic event.- Namibia Daily News
