In the Kavango East Region, Returning Officer Sonia Neumbo confirmed to nbc News that voters’ education had an impact on the elections as there were no challenges faced during the special elections.
Kavango East Region has two polling stations, one at the Rukonga Vision School in Mukwe and one in Rundu urban constituency at the government hall.
Chief Inspector Hangula Walter from the Border and Infrastructure Protection Directorate was the first to vote at the government hall.
“I see really that our voters education; they did a great job; the voters are informed; they know what is expected from them, so it makes the work easier, and the turning up also shows us that really our people in the field are doing a great job; we don’t have challenges up to now. I am happy with the turning up at government hall,” said Neumbo.
Due to men and women in uniform working on shifts, they are still expecting some special voters to come through.
She further assured the voters that everyone will be attended to if found in the queue after nine.
