The Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) Agri Campus has received a generous donation of over 300 fish from Kamutjonga Fish Farming.
This donation will be used to launch the center’s Aquaponics Systems, which were awarded by the Hans Seidel Foundation as part of their Think Namibia campaign.
The RVTC aims to use this initiative to advance sustainable agriculture education and training, providing students with hands-on experience in modern farming techniques.
“This innovative system will offer hands-on learning for both trainees and trainers in agriculture,” they added.
The manager at the Training Centre, Lukas Kornelius expressed pride in being part of this project. “Our students and the centre will gain valuable skills and insights from the Aquaponics Systems as we continue our journey towards sustainable agriculture and vocational excellence,” he added.
Country Representative at HSF, Clemens von Doder said the RVTC was carefully chosen based on several criteria to help ensure the project’s success. “The main goal is to boost local knowledge and skills in climate-resilient aquaponics practices,” he added.
