THE Ongwediva Town Council is set to install high mast lights at Onawa and Okandjengedi.
Town spokesperson Ottilie Shingenge said that the Council handed over the site to the contractor on Friday for the provision and installation of high mast lighting for the residents of Onawa and Okandjengedi.
According to Shingenge, work on this much-needed facility, which has already commenced, will cost the Council N$800,000.
The project is expected to be completed by 14 February 2025.
“This initiative responds to the government’s call and vision of bringing services closer to the people,” she said.
She added that the initiative aligns with Ongwediva Town Council’s Strategic Plan, which is in accordance with the Local Authorities Act (Act No. 23 of 1992), as amended.
