The Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare’s Conditional Basic Income Grant registration, which began last Monday, is progressing smoothly.
The registration is currently underway in the ||Kharas Region, covering Karasburg and Oranjemund.
Registration is being conducted at the Roman Catholic Hall in Karasburg and will conclude on Saturday.
Additional teams are in Oranjemund, facilitating registration there until Friday.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Gender Equality, Selma Mwaetako, highlighted the smooth and efficient registration process, emphasising some of the challenges within the region’s registration process.
“Registration in the ||Kharas Region is going well, but I would like to report that we have a challenge of beneficiaries that were registered before and are not coming forth for registration. We are pleading with the public to come and re-register. Even though you were registered, we need to see whether you are still eligible for registration, so come in and register.”
Residents in Karasburg and Oranjemund are encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing registration drives.
