RESIDENTS of the Oneshila informal settlement in Oshakati, eager to register for the Targeted Basic Income Grant (TBIG), started forming a queue at the Community Development Centre on Wednesday evening, enduring a downpour that lasted several minutes.
By the time officials from the Ministry of Gender arrived at the venue shortly before 10:00 on Thursday, a long queue had already formed, resembling those seen during recent general elections.
However, the venue was changed, and the crowd was moved — in an orderly manner — to the nearby Ehenye Primary School, where registration will take place until Saturday.
Only unemployed persons aged between 18 and 59, residing in urban or peri-urban areas, qualify for the TBIG.
