Khomas Nampol shot to the top of the FNB Women Super League log after collecting maximum points over the weekend.

On Saturday they thumped Okahandja FC 13-0 with their young striker Shange Thomas scoring an incredible nine goals, while their other goals came via Hilma Haitamba, Ndapewa Katuta, Salti Uukongo and Kauhahiziua Kajovi.

Yesterday they were once again too strong for V Power Angels, winning their encounter 3-0 after goals by Katuta, Kajovi and Vulika Shipale.

Those two wins saw them maintaining their 100 percent winning start as they moved up to 15 points from five matches at the top of the log.

Their closest rivals, Beauties FC, dropped their first points of the season when they were held to a gaolless draw by Unam Bokkies on Saturday.

In a hard fought encounter, Beauties had more goal scoring chances but failed to put them away.

Their national forward Fiola Vliete provided several dangerous crosses from the left wing, while striker Lydia Simuma hit the post shortly before halftime.

Their veteran striker Rita Williams finally found the net after a goalmouth scramble midway through the second half but the goal was disallowed due to a foul on Unam’s keeper, Queandra Batista.

At the other end, chances were few and far between for Unam, with Hillary Gonteb coming the closest, forcing a point blank save by Melissa Matheus.

With Beauties’ match against defending champions Ongos Ladies having been postponed, they have now dropped five points behind Nampol on the log, although they have a match in hand.

Arrows Ladies moved up to third position on nine points after beating Namib Daughters 5-0 at the Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund on Saturday. With another match scheduled against the struggling Nust Babes for late yesterday, Arrows were well placed to close the gap even more on the leaders.

The defending champions Ongos Ladies are fourth on eight points after being held to a goalless draw by African Stars Queens on Saturday. With their match against Beauties being postponed, they however have a match in hand on the leaders, Khomas Nampol.

Julinho Athletic Ladies jumped five places up the log after collecting maximum points over the weekend.

On Friday they beat Nust Babes 9-1, with Beverley Uueziua scoring a hattrick, Asteria Angula a brace, and Shanice Daries, Juliana Blou, Beyonce Cloete and Star Kapofi one goal each.

Yesterday they beat Namib Daughters 3-0 with Uueziua scoring two goals and Daries one, to move up to fifth position on seven points.

African Stars Queens are also on seven points after their goaless draw against Ongos Ladies, while Windhoek City joined them on seven points after drawing 2-2 against V Power Angels on Saturday and beating Okahandja FC 4-2 yesterday.

Nust Babes (four points), V Power Angels and Unam Bokkies (three each), Namib Daughters on one and Okahandja United on zero points make up the rear.
