A 54-year-old man died at Omangela village in the Oshana region while catching frogs on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jekonia Mungongolo.
According to police reports, while catching frogs after heavy rainfall, he dived into a deep well where he drowned.
“There was a woman nearby who was busy cleaning her catch of frogs who saw that the man had not come back up after diving,” reported Oshana police inspector Thomas Aiyambo.
The lady allegedly shouted for help and a man who was nearby ran to rescue the man from the water, but he had already died.
The next of kin have been informed.
