TWO individuals who were recently apprehended for breaking into a tourist bakkie and stealing valuable items from Windhoek’s Grove Mall have been released on bail.
Wedlel Josoph (23) and Tolken Hoxobeb (36) appeared in court for the first time and were granted bail of N$700 each.
The two men were part of a group of four individuals involved in the crime at Grove Mall last week. They attempted to flee the scene by pushing the boom gate. However, their getaway car, a blue Polo, was damaged in the process, forcing them to abandon the vehicle and escape on foot.
During the incident, Grove Mall security officers apprehended one suspect, while the other three fled. Windhoek City Police were alerted, and they managed to capture one more suspect who was found hiding in nearby bushes.
The remaining two suspects were able to escape and are currently still on the run.
