Tessa Banks urges leaders in Africa to have faith in continent

A Cameroonian journalist and founder of Afrikultures, Tessa Banks, has urged leaders in Africa to have faith in the continent and to recognise its potential.

Banks called on Africans to wake up and broaden their shoulders in terms of economic development and trade.

He says Africans have suffered for too long from the aftermath of the colonial era.

Banks addressed a three-day business conference and expo aimed at creating an opportunity for local traders to network and understand their role in the economy.

Banks says that being at the expo helps Africans discover the potential in one another and find ways to make business flow in Africa.

She discovered, she said, that colonisation deceived Africans into thinking they lacked the potential to trade among themselves or to manufacture their own raw products.

Her dream, as someone coming from the central part of Africa, is that fellow Africans should open their eyes and see the value in Africa.

Banks further urged African youth to be proud of who they are and where they come from as the future leaders of tomorrow.

Banks then applauded Namibia’s President, Dr. Hage G. Geingob, for investing his time into efforts that ensure growth among the youth.
