Shell has racked up a fourth successive discovery offshore Namibia after hitting pay dirt with a just-completed exploration probe in the Orange basin.
Fresh from this latest success, the supermajor has now started drilling a fifth exploration probe, targeting a major prospect some distance north of its quartet of discoveries in Block 2913A.
A Shell spokesperson told Upstream: “As part of our multi-well campaign in Namibia, we’ve safely and successfully concluded drilling our fourth exploration well Lesedi-1X. “The data we’ve gathered so far confirms the presence of hydrocarbons and further evaluation is required to determine development potential.”
