The South African High Commission and partners celebrated Nelson Mandela Day with the residents of the Katutura Old Age Home.

The High Commission, in partnership with South African Airways and Namib Mills, donated 500 kilogrammes of food to the old age home. 

Nelson Mandela’s Birthday celebrated on the 18th of July annually, is used to give back to the community.

Political counsellor Sholeen Mooljee at South Africa’s High Commission urged everyone to do an act of kindness on the day.

The South African Airline Manager explained that it is the duty of the airline, through its corporate social responsibility, to give back to the community.

Even after the death of Nelson Mandela 10 years ago, the day still holds significance all over the world.
