A one-year-old baby boy died instantly after drowning in a bucket of water at Onamundindi village in the Ogongo Constituency.
The deceased, who was identified as Stefanus Otsheendemuninga Paulus, allegedly died on Thursday afternoon.
Omusati Crime Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the deceased was with other children at the time of the incident.
Simaho claimed that the deceased was at home with his mother and other kids when the mother retired to her room and left the deceased and the other kids to play.
“The older youngster, who was six years old, discovered the corpse drowning in the bucket of water and passed away at 15:00,” he said.
Simaho added that the oldest youngster then took the body out of the water bucket and proceeded to tell the late’s mother.
The body is being transported to Okahao police mortuary for an autopsy.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
