FOUR ROBBED OF N$200 000
Two male Chinese and two Namibian nationals were robbed of N$200 000 at Hadassa Guest House on Langstraat at Otjiwarongo on Friday.
In a brief crime report, the police said it is alleged that the victims, who were in a vehicle with Windhoek registration, were stopped at the gate of the guesthouse, after withdrawing N$200 000.00 at Standard Bank.
“A suspect armed with a pistol and stones in their hands stoned the complainant’s vehicle and smashed both back door windows and further opened the doors, whereby they grabbed the bag in which the money was kept,” reads the statement.
The police arrested a 32-year-old Namibian male suspect in connection with the robbery, but none of the money has not been recovered.
MAN BEATEN TO DEATH
A 29-year-old Namibian male has been arrested after he allegedly beat up a 33-year-old male to death in Omusati region.
According to the police crime report, the victim died after he was beaten with fresh mopane sticks several times.
“It is further alleged that the suspect, after he murdered him (victim), he hanged the deceased on a tree,” reads the statement.
The next of kin have been informed and police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old male took his own life at Okahandja on Saturday.
No suicide note was found and the next of kin has been informed.
The deceased’s body was taken to Okahandja state mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere, the police arrested a 42-year-old male suspect at Swakopmund after he failed to satisfactorily account for two oryx carcasses found his possession, which are valued at N$10 661,80.
Police investigation continues.
MISSING PERSON
The Namibian police at Swakopmund are looking for Elrich Martino Naobeb (37), a Namibian male who went missing after he walked from her sister’s house last week.
According to the crime report, Naobeb, who had gone to visit his sister at Meersig, was never seen ever since he left her.
“The missing person resides at Dangla Heights at Walvis Bay. The subject left a note at his flat, which was found by his sister,” reads the report.
Naobeb is brown in complexion and there is no description of the clothes he was wearing at the time he disappeared.
“The sister only reported the matter to the police yesterday afternoon, 11 August 2023,” reads the report.
