UNAM Southern Campus Director inspires learners with message of self-belief

Belief in one’s own potential can have a huge impact on how successful they become in their career attempts.

These were the sentiments left with learners from various schools and out-of school youth in the ||Kharas Region by UNAM Southern Campus Director Dr. Seth Eiseb.

Eiseb addressed a career fair held at Keetmanshoop.

The |Hai-|Khaua Traditional Authority Junior Council hosted the career fair to offer learners a glimpse into the world of work and potential career paths. Its main objective was to encourage and motivate prospective students to pursue tertiary education upon completing school.

“This event offers a huge opportunity to close the knowledge gap between theoretical and real world expertise so that you know whatever you learn at school or university, you can associate that with what is out there in the market, and you can also use this chance to extend your horizons and discover the opportunities that are available to you. To the individuals experiencing unemployment,  I understand the challenges you may be facing; job seeking can be a daunting and discouraging process.”

Also giving motivational talks were the acting director of the ||Kharas Education Directorate and the ||Kharas Regional Council’s acting CRO, Jasmine Magemann.

“We can rejoice as a directorate if you obtain good marks and results, but we cannot do anything with it; it is yours; you must make the choices in life.

Remember, it is not just about finding a job like we did at that time; it is about discovering your passion, pursuing your dreams, impacting walls, embracing challenges, ceasing opportunities, and continuously learning and growing, I encourage each one of you to approach this fair with an open mind and a sense of curiosity, embrace the change to explore new possibilities , challenge your existing beliefs, and uncover hidden talent within yourselves.”

Also gracing the fair was |Hai-|Khaua tribe leader Goab Johannes Isaack.
