THE City of Windhoek has facilitated access to land for 13 entrepreneurs operating from the City’s Industrial Stalls and Bokamoso Entrepreneurial Centre. These businesspeople have acquired land in Katutura and Khomasdal through a competitive bidding process that took place in November of the previous year.
According to the City of Windhoek, these 13 plots are designated for industrial and business purposes, marking a significant step toward the city’s commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
In preparation for the official land ownership agreements, the 13 visionary entrepreneurs participated in an information session hosted by the City of Windhoek at the Bokamoso Entrepreneurial Centre last week. This significant step represents a milestone in the effort to provide a platform for local business owners to flourish, aligning with the city’s overarching goal of economic empowerment and sustainable development.
This initiative is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to create opportunities aimed at fostering sustainable and inclusive economic development, with the aim of relocating growing enterprises from Council facilities and ultimately generating more employment opportunities.
Recognizing the immense potential of small businesses in driving job creation, the City of Windhoek has mobilized various stakeholders to ensure a collaborative effort toward enhancing the capital’s small business sector.
