Rundu-based Julinho Sporting ended Eeshoke Chula Chula’s unbeaten run in a thrilling football encounter at Rundu Sports Stadium on Saturday, beating the visitors 1-0 in their Debmarine Namibia Premiership match.
The match had football enthusiasts swarming in large numbers to Rundu Sports Stadium to throw their weight behind the home team.
The encounter was also a chance for many football lovers to witness Eeshoke Chula Chula in action.
The Ohangwena team has swiftly gained a huge reputation and stolen the hearts of many football lovers in their first season in the top flight, after being promoted from the north-eastern first division.
The first half of the game was a tough one for both teams, as both Julinho Sporting and Chula Chula had their defence on lock, going into a goalless draw at half-time.
The home team made some major changes in the second half, bringing on Nathanael ‘Katsande’ Damian, who connected with Christian Kativa to break the visitors’ defence.
Katsande slotted the ball into the net, sending the home crowd into jubilation.
Chula Chula travelled to Otjiwarongo to face Life Fighters on Sunday, while Julinho played to a goalless draw against Mighty Gunners at the same venue at Rundu also on Sunday.
