A TOTAL of 70 Namibians will receive scholarships to pursue their studies at any Namibian institution after the Rani Group invested N$1.4 million.
The 70 bursaries will be distributed to all 14 regions, with each region benefiting from five scholarships, aimed at helping disadvantaged Namibians who are unable to finance their studies.
Managing Director of Rani, Ali Dharani, officially handed over the scholarship grants in Gobabis where all the governors are on a work trip.
According to Dharani, they are doing what they can to assist the community, and hopefully next year, they might focus on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to boost them and hopefully grow their business.
“Those benefiting from the bursaries are expected to study in Namibia and in locally-owned institutions with the hope of having an educated nation that is proudly Namibian,” he said.
He added that every year they focus on an initiative that aims to empower their people and hopefully support local communities in which they operate as a way of giving back.
Last year, the Rani Group handed over 700 wheelchairs valued at N$2.5 million, with each region receiving 50 wheelchairs.
Meanwhile, in 2021, the company donated 350 wheelchairs, and another 30 wheelchairs were handed over to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security to benefit officials injured on duty.
