Successful Inaugural NYSDP Football Administration Course

Nkurenkuru, Kavango West Region : In a landmark event for football administration, representatives from Outjo, Rundu, Ohangwena, and Nkurenkuru converged at the Nkurenkuru town council offices for a three-day workshop organized by the NYSDP. The workshop, focusing on football administration, aimed to enhance knowledge and skills in various critical areas of sports management.

The course, facilitated by renowned Sports Consultant Mathew Haikali, with assistance from Mbunga Mitiri and Joy Earnets, covered a wide array of modules. Topics included statutes, marketing, sponsorship, club structure, managing people in sports, and technical development.

The founder and owner of one of the Football Club in Outjo commended the organizers for their efforts. Expressing regret for not bringing more club members, the founder acknowledged the workshop’s importance in contributing positively to the team’s growth.

Chrispine Tjape from Dividu emphasized the practicality of the information received, expressing optimism about its application in the future. Tjape urged football associations to consider making such workshops compulsory, stressing the potential positive impact on club development.

An NEFD Executive Member reflected on the stagnation of many clubs, attributing it to a lack of knowledge-sharing. The sentiment conveyed a shared realization among participants about the importance of educational initiatives for football leaders.

The course, the first of its kind, was specifically organized to elevate the standard of football administration in the Kavango West Region. Despite its success, Haikali expressed disappointment at the low turnout from clubs in Nkurenkuru and the Kavango West, especially in the second division, first division, and youth leagues.

In conclusion, Haikali thanked participants for the opportunity to share knowledge and expressed hope for future courses in different regions. The overwhelming positive response and calls for mandatory participation underscore the need for continued educational initiatives to propel football administration to new heights.
