Lüderitz in an economic awakening

Home Uncategorized Lüderitz in an economic awakening

Luderitz, one of Namibia’s coastal towns, has been overlooked as a tourist destination due to its remote location.

The town has a rich history and is known for its German colonial architecture, but the best is on the horizon.

The town of Luderitz was originally a trading post and later became a site of forced labour and genocide during German colonization.

After the discovery of diamonds, Luderitz experienced a period of prosperity but later declined in importance.

Today, the town is trying to revamp itself and attract tourism through the Luderitz Waterfront Development Company.

This state-owned enterprise aims to stimulate economic activity and business growth in the town.

Additionally, efforts are being made to diversify the local business sector and attract investments in various industries.

One example is Hyphen Hydrogen Energy, a company focused on developing green hydrogen projects in Namibia.

Overall, Luderitz is working towards transforming its waterfront and becoming a thriving destination and business hub.
