In a significant stride towards bolstering education in the Topnaar community, Deep Yellow Limited, in partnership with its subsidiary, Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (Pty) Ltd (RMR), has made a generous donation to JP Brand Primary School within the Walvis Bay Circuit of the Directorate of Education, Arts, and Culture.

This benevolent contribution addresses a pressing need identified by the Office of the Traditional Authority of the Topnaars at Utuseb.

The urgency for school uniforms for 54 students currently enrolled at JP Brand Primary School was conveyed to the Office of the Traditional Authority, which subsequently sought assistance.

In response, RMR has taken proactive steps to bridge this gap and provide crucial support for the educational aspirations of these students.

Dr. Katrin Kärner, Exploration Manager at RMR, reiterated the significance of collaboration with the Office of Acting Chief Stoffel Anamab and the community, by saying that the learners of JP Brand are the future.

As part of this generous initiative, JP Brand received an extensive assortment of school uniforms, including shirts, trousers, shoes, jerseys, socks, and school bags.

The total value of this donation stands at approximately N$64,000, with N$55,000 dedicated to uniforms and N$9,000 allocated for school bags.

A formal handover ceremony was conducted at the school, attended by representatives from RMR and school staff.

Anna Josti, the Principal of JP Brand, expressed her gratitude for the much-needed clothing and bags and stressed the immense joy it brought the learners to be recognized on an equal footing with their peers.

“We sincerely appreciate the generous donation and the unwavering support from RMR. The provision of uniforms will foster equality and instil a sense of pride among the students,” she said.

RMR said that it remains resolute in its commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in Namibia and actively seeks new avenues to make a positive impact on the community.

This school uniform and bag donation exemplifies one of the many initiatives undertaken by RMR to fulfil its overarching objective of empowering and enriching the lives of those it serves.

This act of generosity and support by RMR demonstrates the profound impact that corporate social responsibility can have on local communities, reaffirming the company’s belief that education is the cornerstone of a brighter future for all.
