A 36-year-old man was murdered at his residence in Dorado Park after a night out in the city. He was also robbed of his car and furniture.
According to Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, media liaison officer within the Namibian police, the murder and robbery incident happened between Saturday, March 2, 2024, and Sunday, March 3, 2024, at an unknown time in Dorado Park.
“It is alleged that the deceased person was dropped off by his niece and a friend on Saturday morning around 4:00 AM after they were together for the evening. Before they left, the deceased person called another friend who came while they were still at the deceased’s place, and thereafter they left,” Kuwinga said.
He added that on Saturday, the niece tried to get a hold of the deceased on his phone, but the phone was off.
“They visited his place but couldn’t enter because the gate was locked. On Sunday, March 3, 2024, around 12:00 PM, the same niece and her friend decided to visit the deceased’s place again. When they reached it, they found the door closed but not locked. Upon entering, they found the deceased lying naked, with both arms and legs tied, and a cloth in his mouth. Furthermore, the deceased’s vehicle is missing, as well as the TV and laptop,” Kuwinga said.
