A ONE-YEAR-OLD baby boy drowned in a bucket of water allegedly located in the kitchen at Onziku village in the Oshikuku constituency.
The deceased was identified as Lukas Hamadhila.
Head of Omusati Community Policing, Anna Kunga, said that the incident occurred around 11:00 on Saturday.
“It is alleged that the deceased drowned in a water bucket that was in the kitchen. He was discovered by other children who went to inform their parents, and the local police were subsequently informed,” she said.
She added that the deceased was playing with others, then left, and later others started to look for him and discovered the deceased drowned in the bucket.
The body was taken to the Oshikuku Hospital mortuary and will be transported to the Okahao police station mortuary for a postmortem to determine the cause of death.
