A CASE of murder has been reported in the capital after a 29-year-old woman, identified as Frieda Amadhila was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in a residential flat near Maerua Mall in the early hours of Monday.
According to Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, Media Liaison Officer within the Namibian Police, the murder happened at around 01:07 on Ballot Street, Maerua.
“The suspect stabbed the deceased in the chest and arms with a knife, and she succumbed to the injuries sustained. It is alleged that the suspect was fighting with the deceased at a residential flat near Maerua Mall on Ballot Street. The neighbours called the police and reported the domestic violence. Upon arrival of the police, they found the flat locked, and were told that the suspect drove out,” Chief Inspector Kuwinga said.
He added that according to the nurses at Katutura Intermediate Hospital, the suspect came and parked his vehicle at the emergency entrance and informed the nurses that there was someone in the car who needed urgent attention.
The deceased was declared dead upon arrival.
Chief Inspector Kuwinga said that the suspect, a 22-year-old Namibian male, is not yet arrested and is fighting for his life due to an injury he sustained on his throat. The murder weapon was not found.
