A knife fight ends in death and arrest in Omusati

A KNIFE fight in the Omusati Region resulted in the death of a male teenager and the subsequent arrest of a 25-year-old male suspect. The incident took place in Okalale village, in the Tsandi constituency, on Saturday shortly before midnight.

It is reported that the arrested suspect arrived at a shebeen and immediately called the 19-year-old victim for a private conversation behind the shebeen. During the discussion, a fistfight erupted, which later escalated into a knife fight as both individuals brandished knives.

The victim sustained stab wounds to the neck and thigh, resulting in his death at the scene. The suspect, in turn, sustained stab wounds on his left arm and both legs and was subsequently transported to Okahao district hospital for medical treatment. A knife and a broken knife handle were recovered from the scene.
