THE agriculture sector will be hosting a special memorial service in honour of the late President Hage Geingob at Rietfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region.
The memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, according to Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata, the Executive Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land, and all stakeholders are invited to attend.
The special memorial service will commence at 10:00 at the NYS Rietfontein Training Centre, where Minister Carl Schlettwein will deliver the keynote tribute, among others.
According to Nghituwamata, as the nation mourns the passing of President Geingob, the Ministry of Agriculture extends its deepest condolences to all Namibians.
“We stand united in honouring the significant contribution of the late President to the sectors of agriculture, water, and land reform,” she said.
She added that the late President Geingob was a farmer himself with a keen interest in these sectors, which is why they want to pay their respects.
The late President Geingob, who passed away two weeks ago at the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital at the age of 82, will be laid to rest this Sunday.
