AR calls on Menzies Aviation to vacate airport

The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement has called for unity against Menzies Aviation (Namibia)’s refusal to leave Hosea Kutako International Airport.

AR’s call for Menzies’ immediate departure from the airport comes in the wake of a competitive tender process that saw Paragon Investments Holding take over the ground-handling services at the airport.

Menzies has been in court for over a year, contesting Namibia Airports Company’s decision to award the contract to a competitor, which they deem irregular and unlawful.

AR acting spokesperson George Kambala described Menzies’ refusal to vacate the airport premises as a manifestation of their desperate attempts to maintain a stranglehold on power.

He emphasised that the movement sees this as an affront to justice, equity and the principles of a transformed society.

He expressed disappointment in the country’s leaders, who have been silent on the matter.
