A man’s body was discovered at Grootfontein’s showgrounds on Saturday.
Police head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa region senior inspector Maureen Mbeha says the deceased has been identified as Ivan Gariseb (28).
Community members reportedly discovered his body at around 07h00 on Saturday.
“Gariseb left behind a suicide note and no foul play is suspected so far,” Mbeha says.
Gariseb’s next of kin have been informed of his death, and an inquest docket was opened at Grootfontein Police Station.
Police investigations continue.
