The Capricorn Group announced today that Thinus Prinsloo, the group chief executive officer (CEO), is resigning and moving to Capricorn Investment Holdings (CIH) as a director.

CIH is the principal shareholder of Capricorn Group.

Prinsloo will leave his position as group CEO once the recruitment process for his successor has been completed.

“I am excited about the new opportunity offered to me at CIH, the largest shareholder in Capricorn Group. I look forward to new opportunities in my role at CIH and to continue to seek ways to create value for our stakeholders,” Prinsloo said.

Under Prinsloo’s leadership, Capricorn Group has developed a strong investor offer that is backed by consistent performance. The total assets have increased at a compound annual growth rate of 10,1% during the last seven years. Net asset value per share was 90% lower on 1 January 2016, when he assumed the role of group CEO, than it was on 31 December 2022.

The chairperson of the board of directors of Capricorn Group, Gerhard Fourie, acknowledged Prinsloo’ significant contributions to Capricorn Group’s growth and success, wishing him well as he transitions to CIH.

The search for Prinsloo’s successor is underway.
