Training for the enumerators for the 2023 Population and Housing Census started today across the country.
The Census Regional Coordinator for ||Kharas Region, Jonas Nghipangwa, says the training of enumerators got off to a smooth start despite some of the shortlisted candidates failing to show up for training. A total of 451 candidates were shortlisted in the ||Kharas Region.
“When we started in the morning, we had a few challenges for those who did not turn up; some of the applicants got absorbed by permanent opportunities, and some are attending NDF and police trainings, and we are busy doing replacements for those who did not turn up.”
The Census Regional Coordinator also urged the public to support field workers during the enumeration process, which is to start a week from now.
“We just want the community to cooperate with us and also to give us support when we go for the field work; this is a national project, and everyone is responsible to play their roles to ensure that quality data for better planning is done and good data is collected for planning for the next 10 years to come.”
