As December concludes with the final days of the year, the approaching weekend unfolds with a myriad of exciting events poised to captivate all who take part.

IN THE CITY

If you find yourself in Windhoek, you do not want to miss the All-White New Year’s Bash, to be held at the City of Windhoek parking area on Independence Avenue.

With free entrance, all you need to take is your empty cooler box and a camping chair to witness the biggest fireworks in town.

City of Windhoek spokesperson Harold Akwenye confirms the event will be on December 31, starting from 16h00 and going into the new year.

“Let’s paint 2024 white; performers such as 4X4, Too Much Power, Bale Bale, Swart Baster, James Omlongo and more,” he says.
Drinks and food from outside, weapons and fireworks are not allowed.

SOUND OF SUMMER

If partying on the beach is ever on your mind, don’t miss out on the Sound of Summer festival at Langstrand between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.

The one-day event started on Thursday with the beats of the Savanna Sound of Summer. The event features special appearances from different DJs such as DJ Chris Taylor and DJ Dean Fuel.

The official Sound of Summer after-party will be held at Club Naps at Swakopmund.

CLUB MYNT

Looking forward to diving into New Year’s Eve with good music? Say no more: Club MYNT in Windhoek will be having its New Year’s Eve party on 31 December from 20h00 until 04h00.

Get your tickets at Paytoday or at the door and dance the night away with Irah, DJ Ru, Cellos, Sout and more.

MYNT club founder Robert Mertens says: “Expect good music with good people.”
The rules will apply, with strictly no under-18s.

AMIS DAY CLUB

Day clubbers will not be left out: Amis Day Club will be having its last event of the year. All the Amis Day Club besties will meet at Swakopmund on 31 December at Cosdef Arts and Craft Centre. The experience will have international and local live DJs, featuring DJ Charisse C, Servio and the double-trouble prominent duo A Gulps Worth.

The event will start at 13h00 on 31 December, and goes on until 02h00 in the new year.

STRATOS

Do you want to experience live local entertainment and keep grooving with breathtaking views and delectable food and drinks? Join the New Year’s Eve party at Stratos, Avani, in Windhoek.

Dressing code is smart casual, with live entertainment starting from 18h00 until late on 31 December.

General entrance costs N$500, VIP entrance N$1 000, and VVIP entrance is N$2 500.

ALL-WHITE PARTY AT MARIENTAL

Topi Tate Buti will be rocking Mariental on 31 December, as well as the one and only Chester, with Kalux, Houseprince and more.

The all-white party will take place at Mariental swimming pool.
DJ Jack, Tangos and Slaughterhouse will be calming the event until late.

KASI SUMMER FESTIVAL

At Rundu, the Kasi Summer Festival is set to take place on Sunday. The event will have a special appearance by well-known artist Gazza.

To be part of the summer festival and enter 2024 with a banger, tickets range from N$55 to N$100.

Also at Rundu, the Kavango East region town’s waterfront festival and beach bash are happening this weekend.

NEW YEAR PRIDE EVENT

The New Year Pride Countdown Party is set to take place at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Katutura on 31 December, from 12h00 until late.

The pride event will feature performers and artists Kagiso Magola, Kamohela Pule, Coachela Randy and Chelsea Sloan, all from South Africa. Local artists such as DJ Spuzza and Megaslaughterhouse will also be performing live at the event.

A fireworks display is planned for midnight.
