Ongwediva-based gospel artist Dr Paul, real name Paulus D Fresiano, in his newest song ‘I love you Lord’ addresses domestic and social issues.
The song is also the artist’s first Afro-pop project.
Dr Paul was born and bred at Ruacana.
Growing up he loved music, and his big brother would give him piano lessons, he says.
The artist has released two albums, ‘It’s Over’ in 2020, and ‘Strings of Faith’ in 2022.
He says his latest song has an Afro-pop culture, and he thanks God for what he has done in his life thus far.
Dr Paul says while working on this song he learned about the power of collaboration and how important it is to work with talented producers.
“The song carries a word of encouragement, motivating the public to always be thankful and acknowledge any blessing God gives them.
“The song really means a lot to me. I do gospel music because I see it as another way of preaching the word of God,” he says.
Dr Paul says he is currently working on his third album, ‘The Midnight Session’.
He says the public can expect various genres such as soulful amapiano, soft worship, praise songs and African sounds.
The new project will be released in December.
“With my new album I would like to provide spiritual upliftment and soul-healing melodies. I would like to talk more about gender-based violence, baby dumping and self-sustainability.
“On my new album, I am planning to include more incredible worshippers to administer the power of God through beautiful melodies.
“The public must prepare to be moved by my upcoming project. They can look forward to experience a divine encounter as they listen to my heartfelt expression of faith,” he says.
“I was diagnosed with heart disease at the age of 12. I went to revival churches and was healed. I joined the worship team which helped me discover my talent, and I felt the need to start doing music to motivate others who feel rejected or who have lost hope in life,” Dr Paul says.
