A DRIVER and a passenger died at the scene, and an unspecified number of passengers were injured while another driver was arrested for culpable homicide and drunken driving following a road accident that occurred in Oniipa town, Oshikoto Region, on Sunday evening.
According to the head of the Oshikoto Community Policing Subdivision, Chief Inspector Ellen Nehale-Kangulu, the incident occurred on the road between Onethindi and Onandjokwe district hospital.
She said that the Toyota Corolla was attempting a U-turn when it collided with an oncoming Toyota Hilux pickup.
The driver of the Corolla and a passenger died on the spot. Other passengers were injured, and the driver of the Toyota pickup, who escaped unscathed, was arrested for drunken driving.
The injured passengers were admitted to Onandjokwe Hospital.
