Professional Namibian cyclists, Hans Du Toit and Jafet Amukushu, have recently accomplished the prestigious Union Cyclist International Level 3 certificate.
Amukushu, a seasoned road race cyclist with over a decade of experience under the NCCS Pro Cycling team, shared his thoughts on this remarkable achievement in an interview with NBC.
The Namibian Cycling Federation proudly announced the successful certification of Du Toit and Amukushu at Level 3. This certification program was tailored for coaches holding a Level 2 discipline-specific qualification, and it was also completed by PJ Amukushu, a prominent national cyclist from Namibia.
The knowledge and skills acquired through this certification can open doors to further qualifications in the sports industry, particularly in coaching and sports development. The course focuses on creating personalized training plans and incorporates a coaching element that may involve remote work with cyclists post-completion.
Amukushu expressed his enthusiasm for sharing his expertise with young talents, considering it a long-awaited opportunity. Currently, he is actively coaching the Physically Active Youth participants at the Katutura Youth Centre in Windhoek, showcasing his commitment to nurturing the next generation of cyclists.
