AS the festival season approaches, the Namibian Police Force community affairs officer, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, has urged the community to guard their property jealously.
The urge comes after three unknown suspects robbed the employees of Creation Bar in Grootfontein at gunpoint in the early hours of Tuesday.
Mbeha said that the suspects allegedly entered the bar and held three employees at gunpoint, ordering them to lie down, while one of the suspects jumped over the counter and took cash from the unlocked safe, amounting to N$88,000.
“It is further alleged that the suspects took the security guard’s cellphone and ran into the bush across the railway line,” she said.
Mbeha indicated that the case is yet to be registered, as the bartender was informed to wait for the owner who is on the way from Rundu.
She then called on all business communities not to keep large sums of money on their premises to avoid losses.
