FAO says there’s an urgent need to address water-food security nexus

The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation notes that 2.4 billion people live in areas with limited water access, yet global demand for water in agriculture is expected to increase by 35% by 2050. To address this, World Food Day on October 16th will focus on the link between water and food security, aiming to produce more food with less water, ensure fair water distribution, preserve aquatic food systems, and include everyone in these efforts.
