THE Namibian police in the Otjozondjupa Region reported that a farmworker allegedly discovered his 34-year-old employer electrocuted in the early hours of Christmas Eve.
The deceased was identified as Harm Jan Kolver.
Otjozondjupa Community Policing Sub-division Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha said the incident occurred at Farm Swarkroon No. 272, Hochfeld area, in the Okahandja district.
“It is alleged that a farmworker discovered his employer electrocuted after he went to work on a faulty transformer that supplies power to the irrigation system,” she said.
She added that the worker informed the deceased’s wife of the discovery, who then called an ambulance from Okahandja and drove alongside the body to meet the ambulance halfway.
Mbeha said that the deceased was declared dead by a doctor upon arrival at the Okahandja State Hospital, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
