A female shopkeeper was arrested by the police in Nkurenkuru, Kavango West Region, after she allegedly failed to account for approximately 1.7 tons of maize meal.
According to the police’s crime report, the 25-year-old suspect was apprehended at Asser Shop in Kakuro village on Friday. She had reportedly failed to account for approximately 1.7 tons of maize meal, which includes 62 bags of 10 kg each, six bags of 20 kg each, and 19 bags of 50 kg each.
The total value of the missing maize meal is estimated at N$59 900.
No items were recovered, and the arrested suspect is expected to appear in court today (Monday).
