Fishing industry concerns grow over government’s quota allocation

The Confederation of Namibian Fishing Associations has expressed concern over the government’s decision to allocate more fishing quotas ahead of the private sector. This shift is causing uncertainty among rights holders, impacting their investments and job stability. CNFA Chairperson Matti Amukwa called for the speedy implementation of the scorecard, which is a system that will assess the performance of right holders and allocate quotas accordingly.
