WALDE Natangwe Ndevashiya, the former Regional Governor of Ohangwena, has extended his gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve the country and has accepted the relief from his regional governorship duties.
“I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 14 November 2023 relieving me of my duties as the Governor of the Ohangwena Region, a decision accepted with humility and without any prejudice. In the premise, I wish to express my profound gratitude to you, Your Excellency for having accorded me the privilege to serve my country from the pinnacle of the regional governorship under your able leadership,” Ndevashiya said.
He further assured the President that he remains committed to diligently serving the country as well as the SWAPO Party’s rank and file.
This development follows President Hage Geingob’s appointment of the retired police chief, Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga, as the Regional Governor of the Ohangwena Region. The appointment took effect on 16th November 2023.
In response to this appointment, President Geingob thanked Ndevashiya for his service during his tenure as Governor of the Ohangwena Region. He also expressed confidence and trust in the ability, commitment, and fairness of Lieutenant General Ndeitunga to discharge his duties and responsibilities as the Regional Governor of Ohangwena.
