THE Namibian Police in the Erongo region have arrested four men suspected of murdering 22-year-old Peter Bockky Amwaalwa, who died on Saturday, July 1, in Swakopmund. Amwaalwa was stabbed to death and robbed of his cellphone.
According to Deputy Commissioner Erastus Ikuyu, the Erongo Police crime investigations coordinator, the deceased’s stolen cellphone was recovered, and the four suspects have been arrested. They are scheduled to appear at the Swakopmund Magistrate Court today.
Commissioner Ikuyu also mentioned that additional suspects are still at large, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend them.
The murder of Amwaalwa took place on July 1 at approximately 02:30 in Dr. Frans Indongo Street, Mondesa, Swakopmund. During a month-end operation, authorities discovered the body of a male lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds. Emergency services were alerted, and medical professionals confirmed the victim’s death at the scene. The body was subsequently transported to the Swakopmund Hospital Mortuary for further examination and storage.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was allegedly attacked by a group of male individuals. The next of kin have been notified.
