The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) is holding a week-long stakeholders’ engagement forum to offer the latest updates on the company’s recent undertakings, which include the introduction of new devices to be installed in all constituencies.

In addition to this, the forum will address crucial areas such as housing, financial education, pension literacy, and guidance on income tax filing.

Speaking at Gobabis, GIPF’s General Manager for Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement, Edwin Tjiramba, said that members are continuously updated about available services as part of the institution’s annual outreach programme.

“Under one roof, we have pretty much brought a lot of stakeholders who are then able to attend to you, so we are doing it in a workshop, where this presentation will be followed by questions and answers, and members at the leadership level can explain what their concerns are, and then with intent, they go back to their respective offices, and then staff can be briefed, so that is one way we reach out to our members.”

The regional governor, Pijoo Nganate, acknowledged and appreciated the socioeconomic impact government institutions like the GIPF have on local people in Omaheke Region.

“I am reliably informed that the Fund has commenced an exercise of engaging CROs nationwide in the hope of bringing some services of the fund to regional constituency levels. I can without reservations state that the GIPF will be a trailblazer in this particular instance of truly bringing its services to the doorsteps of rural Namibia.”

Nganate further implored the GIPF to, as part of its corporate social responsibility, consider a mandate for water delivery in the region, considering its superb agricultural potential.
