THE Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) is urging all beneficiaries who are students between the ages of 18 and 25 to submit proof of their enrolment from their school or institution of higher learning.
Edwin Tjiramba, GIPF’s General Manager of Marketing and Stakeholders Engagement, emphasized that the submission of these letters is imperative to avoid delays in processing benefits.
“One of the key components of the Fund’s Corporate Strategy is to ensure that its members are well informed, and aware of their benefits. Having said that, this is the time of the year again where GIPF implores all annuitants (beneficiaries) who are students and are between the ages of 18 years to 25 years old, to submit their signed proof of studentship timeously,” he said.
Tjiramba explained that these letters need to be signed by authorized signatories of the respective school or institution of higher learning. Authorized signatories include principals, faculty officers, rectors, directors, branch coordinators, and/or deputy heads of departments or anyone acting in that capacity.
“If a student took a break in his/her studies due to any unforeseen circumstances, then he/she should submit proof of studentship for payment of benefits to continue until they turn 25 years old,” he added.
