The Director in the Office of the National Council’s Chairperson, Petrus Kavhura, has urged the government to act on the resolutions passed by the Junior National Council MPs.

Kavhura emphasised the importance of these resolutions and how they should guide future actions.

During the session, junior members highlighted the need for parents, teachers, learners, and other stakeholders to play their part in advancing education.

They also talked about the importance of integrating technology into the curriculum to prepare students for future careers in emerging industries like robotics, artificial intelligence, green energy, agriculture, and the arts.

Kavhura stressed that knowledge and innovation are important in today’s world.

He noted that students should not only learn about fields like oil and gas or AI at the university level but also be introduced to these topics earlier.

He emphasised the need for a system that effectively bridges the gap between student contributions and policy implementation.

Kavhura also praised the recent session as a success and called for more stakeholders to join in supporting future discussions.

“We are moving to a stage where knowledge and innovation are very important. Therefore, having its emerging industries, a student should not only be surprised to learn about oil and gas, green hydrogen, or AI at the university level. Whatever recommendations are made, the resolutions passed will surely influence policy decisions and implementation, but then we need a proper bridge. They’ve made their contributions; there should be a carrier that ensures that contributions made are filtered.”
