Guinas constituency office relocates to Tsintsabis

THE Guinas constituency office in the Oshikoto Region has permanently relocated from the Oshivelo settlement in the Nehale Lya Mpingana constituency to a newly completed office complex at Tsintsabis.

The relocation became necessary following the creation of the Nehale Lya Mpingana constituency, which incorporated geographic areas that were formerly part of Guinas, including the Oshivelo settlement. This created an anomaly of a constituency office operating outside the constituency.

The Nehale Lya Mpingana constituency was created in 2013 following the recommendations of the 4th Delimitation Commission.

According to Petrus Nehale, senior public relations officer of the Oshikoto Regional Council, the new office was constructed in phases and houses both the Guinas Constituency and Tsintsabis Settlement offices as part of the Regional Council’s efforts to bring much-needed public services under one roof and closer to the people.

Normal operations at the new site commenced on 1 February.

“The contact details will be shared with the public once the connections are restored,” he said, adding that the building will be inaugurated in due course when all the logistics are finalized.
