TWO students who were utilizing MTC’s ‘happy hour’ to do their assignments were attacked and robbed during the early morning hours of Thursday. The incident occurred between 02:00 and 03:00 at the Ndagondulu flats in the Oneshila informal settlement of Oshakati.
According to the police report, three unknown suspects attacked the students who were sitting outside, studying, and doing their assignments using MTC’s ‘happy hour,’ which offers free data from midnight till 06:00. One of the robbers was allegedly armed with a pistol and instructed the students to lay down on the floor before covering them with a blanket. The other two suspects were allegedly armed with a piece of metal and a pepper spray, respectively.
Stolen items include a Lenovo laptop valued at N$7,000; one Samsung A2 valued at N$2,000; Puma bag (N$500); a Nike cap (N$400); one laptop charger (N$700); a Samsung A12 (N$5,000); a pair of sneakers (N$260); one EarPod (N$200), and padlocks with their respective keys (N$200).
No arrests have been made so far.
