The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has announced that some polling stations delayed opening due to late deployment of material because of late printing of ballot papers.
The Harare and Bulawayo provinces have been the worst affected. However, the electoral commission said all affected polling stations will extend their deadlines to cover for the time wasted.
Zimbabweans flocked to polling stations on Wednesday morning in a harmonised election in which the incumbent president Emmerson Mnangagwa is seeking a second term.
Eleven candidates are vying for the presidential seat, while six million people are expected to cast their votes.
The process has been lauded by the Namibian government election observation mission as largely peaceful.
