THE heavy rainfall in the Kunene and Otjozondjupa regions is expected to persist and extend to the Omusati Region tomorrow.
This prediction comes from Namibia Meteorological Services, which has advised residents and visitors in the Kunene, Omusati, and Otjozondjupa regions to prepare for intense storms tomorrow and exercise caution.
In the past few days, the Otjozondjupa and Kunene regions have already witnessed exceptionally strong thunderstorms, leading to flooded streets in places such as Outjo in the Kunene Region as well as Otavi and Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region. Numerous online photos depict the inundated roads in these towns.
Kamanjab in the Kunene Region has also been affected by the recent rainfall. Images shared by Kaoko Bush Lodge capture the positive impact of rain in this town, with the caption “Finally! Nature’s gentle touch graces Kaoko Bush Lodge with long-awaited raindrops! These overdue showers bring life back to our fields and joy to our hearts. Here’s to the beauty of replenishment and the promise of growth.”
Many social media users have also shared photos and videos showcasing the revitalization of various rivers, including the Hoanib, Ugab and Kuiseb rivers, due to the recent widespread rainfall.
The weather outlook for tomorrow predicts more rainfall across the country, with the greatest impact expected in the Kunene, Otjozondjupa, and Omusati regions. However, the rain will once again be widespread, affecting multiple places in various regions.
In Windhoek, continuous thundershowers are anticipated to endure until at least Friday. Similarly, Rundu, Ondangwa, and Keetmanshoop can also anticipate thundershowers throughout the week.
Coastal areas are also not exempt, as Namibia Meteorological Services forecasts rain showers in the central and northern coastal regions, particularly highlighting Walvis Bay as one of the coastal areas where thundershowers are likely to occur tomorrow.
