The players were warmly welcomed by officials from the Namibia Hockey Union, as well as their family members and friends, at the Hosea Kutako International Airport.

The Namibian Men’s Indoor Hockey Team had an outstanding performance, reaching the tournament final and emerging as champions after defeating South Africa with a score of 3-2. The joy and excitement were evident as the players celebrated their victory upon their return.

The winning captain, DJ Strauss, shared his thoughts on the tournament in an interview with NBC Sport. He expressed his pride in the team’s achievement and credited their hard work and dedication for their success.

The experience gained in Malaysia will undoubtedly serve as a valuable guide for their upcoming assignment in South Africa next month, according to coach Trevor Cormack.

The Women’s team, although finishing fifth overall, also had a worthwhile experience in Malaysia. Coach Shayne Cormack expressed her pride in her team’s performance, highlighting their growth and progress throughout the tournament.

Midfielder Azaylee Philander stood out as the top scorer for Namibia, and her excitement at achieving this feat was palpable.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will continue their competitive journey at the Khosi Cup in South Africa, taking place from December 15th to 19th in Cape Town.

The teams are eager to build on their recent success and showcase their skills against tough opponents in the upcoming tournament.
